Doh! Thanks Willie, looks like I wasn't paying attention to who posted what.

(Don't go to the other Mexican restaurant also found in the same center.) Little English spoken at El Mariachi so be prepared. Also check out the Mexican grocery and bakery next door.

Went there for an early lunch today and got their special. 1/4 grilled chicken, rice, beans, veggies and tortillas. Friendly staff that seemed surprised to see a new face, but made me feel welcome. Definitely a place I'll be returning to. Thanks for the suggestion!

Tried Gander off English Station road yesterday. Had the SW chicken salad...huge portion and very good. Had a chance to talk with the owner Chris as well. Definitely will be returning to eat my way through their menu, although he did say they were getting ready to change it.

Same folks as Goose Creek Diner? If so, I hope you tried the fried green tomatoes ...

I didn't make the connection until you mentioned it Robin. ( Goose Creek - Gander duh!)
Goose Greek has a pretty good Rubin sandwich too.

Yes, same owner but definitely a different atmosphere and decor. No green tomatoes this trip though. Gives me something to look forward to next time.

Any suggestions for a local Asian place?

Gayle M. (One of the other forum members) turned me onto Jasmine, off Shelbyville Rd, past Middletown, just past 265 ramps.)
I love duck and they offer a couple options that have both been delightful.
Nice people, full bar (if that's important to you.) and some authentic dishes as well.

Thanks, I've driven by there a few times.

Ask for the "red" menu at Jasmine if you want authentic Szechuan dishes. The address is 13825 English Villa Drive.
