Glad this place is reopening. I always liked their salsas a lot. I had some great shrimp tacos there that I keep thinking about. And it'll be a nice constrast to the other food on offer in that part of town -- not a lot of taquerias within walking distance of Goss.

As I sit here having brunch at The Eagle, I wonder if anyone knows of any updates?

So, how is the food? Been for drinks only (on the patio).

First, know that I am not a fried chicken connoisseur as it has been a few years since I have had fried chicken. That said, it was delicious! The batter was crispy with a little kick and the chicken itself was juicy and had tons of flavor. The menu says “house brined”. Whatever they do, it works. One criticism is that the oil used for mine probably could have been filtered or changed.

I had the collard greens for the side and they were quite good.

They also have an ample beer selection.
