Salmon Croquettes

Don't laugh. I know it's retro, etc., but I'm craving salmon croquettes. Recommendations?

I had some a few weeks ago at Uptown Cafe. Not the traditional pointy shape, but tasty, nonetheless.

Goose Creek Diner is a tasty option-- along with a crab cake, stewed or fried green tomatoes, and the greens of the day!

I will have to try Paul's...maybe tonight!

When the urgency has passed and you've had your fill (for now) call up Check's in Germantown and see if they're a special on a Friday night. So, so worth it. Served with mashed potatoes and peas for about 8 bucks. May even be on the regular menu by now.

Yesterday (Wednesday) the sandwich special of the day at Brasserie Provence was Salmon Crouquett with lettuce, tomato and aioli on ciabatta. Heaven! Probably the best salmon croquette I've had since my youth.

Gayle, that sounds so delicious.

Alexis, I took your advice and hit Check's tonight. You are so right. They were great. I also had German potato salad and fried apples (speaking of retro).
