Meridian Cafe Closing

Just learned today that the Meridian Cafe will be closing at the end of December. The owner will be opening a new restaurant in Prospect called Melrose, presumably at or near the location of the old Melrose Inn.

Hopefully this time his restaurant will be handicapped accessible!

Thanks for the heads up-- will miss them (though I have not been as often as in previous years). No more Big Dave Pastrami Hash! The idea of a new Melrose Inn is exciting though...best wishes for the new venture, and hopefully there will be a worthy replacement! Now that corner will have NO parking problems Feed Bag was still vacant last I checked!

I hadn't heard about that restaurant chain before I went and looked at their website. Louisville definitely needs them to come here! I'm sure they would do well because we really don't have anything very similar, some of the biscuits really sound great!

They were here back in the 80's...corner of Hikes Lane and Klondike Lane...used to be a burger King before Tudors...for the last 30 years it has been Wonton Express.

I lived in the area back in the 80's ...Tudor's was above average.

This news is deeply depressing. I love that spot.
