Kathy, that sure doesn't ring a bell with me. I started writing about restaurants for the Louisville Times in the '80s, and I don't remember anything like that then. But maybe some of the (other) old-timers around here will remember!
Sounds like it could be Ireland's. While I don't remember one in Louisville, there were ones close to the college campuses in both Nashville and Lexington. Steak and biscuits was a signature menu item!
