Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
It hasn't been on my radar much, but in an attempt to feed a friend who prefers country style cooking I headed out there today. Permanently closed. Facebook page was last updated Sept 8, but there's a big sign on the building "turn key restaurant available for sale".

I don't think so. As far as I know they were always located on Hudson Lane. My wife and I ate there a few times; it was always pretty good. It never made it into our regular rotation for some reason, though.
Was that the same family that had the Fern Creek Cafe located further out Bardstown Rd. Long before the Gene Snyder was put in? It sat in front of the feed store.

It was one of many restaurants that Rick Longino had a hand in opening, none of which are still open. It was a pretty decent place for home-style meal.

My first and only time to Merrick's was memorable.
Back a couple of years ago when LHB had several encouraging posts, I thought I would give it a try the next time to my brother/sister-in-law home in Fern Creek...stopped in about 11 a.m. on a Saturday and it was closed...even though the posted hours indicated they were open.
Since there were no other cars in the lot...I felt like I must have missed the memo on them being closed. Fool me once...never went back!
