Mama's BBQ

by Jerry C » Wed Sep 14, 2016 11:00 pm

I ( and others) have previously declared Mama's BBQ wings the best in town. After a visit for lunch today, I am probably going to have to reconsider this opinion...

My son met me there after his job interview and we both had 10 wings and a salad. The wings I remembered had quite a "smokey" flavor in addition the rub placed on them prior to cooking/smoking.

Today's wings had no "smoke" flavor and seemed lightly fried versus "smoked". Not nearly as good as the previous version. I would rate today's batch a 6 out of 10 (previous version was 9 of 10).

Has anyone been to Mama's recently that can confirm my thoughts?

I think Wingstop (Hurstbourne Lane) now beats out Mama's for my favorite wing place.

Have you been to Rootie's? Try theirs, especially the BBQ version if you like Q.

The wings at Doc Crows are pretty tasty

Yes, I have been to Rootie's and their grilled BBQ wings are very good...Rootie's is just too far out for me to go more than once in a blue moon.

I will have to try the Red Barn Kitchen...have not been yet and it is pretty close to me. Thanks for the heads up.

Wednesday's at FDKY in J-Town, wings are on the menu.

BBQ rub and smoked.

I wish they were on the menu everyday.
