Melillo's Italian Restaurant is serving a 3-course (soup or salad, entree, dessert) and a bottle of wine for $90 per couple. We are only doing 1 seating in our small establishment so our customers won't be rushed. Flowers for the ladies, candy for the gentlemen. Reservations through Ashley at 540-9975.

Michele,

Will the menu be special for Valentine's Day, or is it ordering off your regular (wonderful) menu?

We're working on the menu and will have it posted on the forum on Wednesday. Pulling recipes together from the long ago family members and want to add a couple of new choices for this special Amore evening.

One thing I do know... I'm not doing Macaroni Grill for Valentines this year. Last year it was quite the ordeal. I already reported on the experience a little bit before, but I didn't match the restaurant to the story.

I'll just remark on one aspect: they tried to substitute iceberg lettuce in their caesar salad! I was flummoxed at the gall of the server or whoever decided that this substitution was acceptable.

Great job by Melillo's!

by Melissa Richards-Person » Thu Jan 17, 2008 2:11 pm

Just a note for those of you considering...

Two years ago on Valentines Day, hubby (although he was fiance' then) was supposed to be out of town, then had his plans changed at the last minute. We slid into a space made available by cancellation at Melillos. It was absolutely lovely! Intimate, not at all rushed, and the Italian Cream Cake was so good that hubby decided that needed to be our wedding cake.

The staff did a wonderful job, and the food had the warmth of a home-cooked meal, so I highly recommend for those of you wanting a a quiet, intimate valentines day experience!
