Lunch spot in Indiana?

by Beth Thorpe » Tue Jun 14, 2016 9:13 am

I have a friend staying with family in Santa Claus Indiana this week and we are hoping to meet up for lunch. Anything good that would be around the midpoint between there and Louisville? Much thanks.

The Overlook in Leavenworth might be a good option. Its located right beside the river with a gorgeous view of the river. Food is good especially the fried chicken. Its about 3 to 3.5 miles off the interstate.

Just a FYI: The former chef/owner of Blue River Café is now running The Overlook's kitchen.

Schnitzelbank Restaurant in Jasper would give a good sense of the region's deep German heritage. I think it's a bit closer to Evansville than "halfway," but still a reasonable day trip, especially if it's a pretty summer day.
