Halal restaurants?

by Glenn G » Thu May 12, 2016 5:30 pm

Hello, everyone. Long-time lurker here.

I'm looking for halal-conforming restaurants in Louisville. I know Safier follows halal regulations, but I can't seem to find anything else.

Help? Thanks in advance.

In the past, I'm pretty sure that the Shiraz mini-chain used halal meats, Glenn. Not sure if they still do.

Have you checked with Al Watan on Klondike Lane? I have no solid knowledge, but they strike me as the kind of place serving a clientele that would want halal meat.

Is Addis Ethiopian still open at First and Main? They advertised "Halal and local" meat.

Also, you might check out this listing of halal meat stores in Louisville ... you could try calling them and see if they supply any restaurants?

Anar market on Westport Road a mile or so west of Goose Creek is another, not listed, with very friendly folks.

My next door neighbor is from Jordan. He told me that Petra on Beuchel has clean, halal meats.

The store across from Churchill Downs on 4th st has halal meats, as well as Dino's in Fern Creek on Bardstown Rd.

Petra is no longer open. There is a place in the building but I cannot recall the name of it.

I'd peg Dino's as more Beuchel than Fern Creek. Great hummus, but they run out early.

This is a site we've used to find halal catered lunches for our conferences. http://www.zabihah.com/sub/United-States/Kentucky/Central-Kentucky/4Tg1JOZtxk
