Conrad-Caldwell House Museum To Host Louisville On The Lawn Pop-up Party
Fundraiser to Benefit Historic Old Louisville Museum

On Saturday, May 28, The Conrad-Caldwell house Museum will host a chic, pop-up picnic of epic proportions. The setting is perfect, taking place on the vast lawn of the 130-year old 10,000 square foot mansion, surrounded by the beautiful historic houses and ornate fountain on St. James Court.

Partygoers, dressed all in white, are invited to bring their own food and libations for the sprawling picnic. Attendees will enjoy live jazz music courtesy of singer Karan Chavis and the RCW3 band, and District 6 Metro Councilman David James will serve as the night’s guest emcee.

Partygoers must don their favorite dapper, white outfits for a chance to win Best Dressed in White, and are also encouraged to bring decorations and elaborate fixings like candelabras and centerpieces— as there will be a prize for best decorated table as well. The event will also feature a silent auction, a photo booth, and lawn party traditions like “napkin twirling” to kick off the event!

Sign-in and table setup will go from 6-7 p.m., with the event kicking-off at 7. Tables, chairs and fabulous ambience will be provided, but guests will need to bring their own tablecloth, tableware, utensils, glassware, food, beverages and table decorations. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older. The event will not have food available for purchase. Guests must bring their own food, beverages and alcohol. There will be a Wine Pull, but no other alcohol will be available for purchase. This is a non-smoking event. The event will take place rain or shine.

History of the Museum: The Conrad-Caldwell House Museum is a 130-year old 10,000 square foot mansion and treasure of Victorian architecture on St. James Court in the Old Louisville historic preservation district.  The mansion was built on the site of the 1883-1887 Southern Exposition, designed by noted architect Arthur Loomis. This turreted, richly carved three-story limestone structure is heavily ornamented; its architectural design is Richardsonian-Romanesque.
