Tom + Chee next to Trinity High School in St. Matthews is closed. We went by for lunch a couple of days ago. The location is stripped of all tables and chairs. Looks like all the kitchen equipment is gone. Only thing left was the fountain soda machine. No notice or explanation in the window. Gone. Sorry if this has already been mentioned in a previous post, a quick check, didn't see anything.

No, it's news. Thanks for posting, David. I'm actually surprised. I thought it was pretty good for a chain.

PS: I'm pretty sure there's another branch on Bardstown Road. I wonder if it closed, too.

I recently took my boys there for the first time. We enjoyed our lunch, but the restaurant itself seemed like it needed some TLC. The walls were dinged up, there was a hole in the bathroom wall, the tv above our table was very dusty, and the tables and chairs seemed very worn. My kids and I actually had a discussion about the atmosphere when we left. I didn't feel like it was a place I'd want to return to. I feel like if management doesn't put effort into the aesthetics of their restaurant then they are probably not putting much effort into the cleanliness of the kitchen, etc.

Interesting, and dithguthting! I'm surprised, only because it seemed very clean and sharp when it opened. Sounds like careless management, and that's no recipe for long-term success.

I had noticed recently that the U of L one is closed, too, although it probably wasn't a recent development.
