We went to New Albany Bistro, finally!

My husband and I went in there last night for dinner.

I love the inside. Quaint and cute.

Our server was great. He never rushed us, and we are always slow to decide.

The fried green tomatoes were delicious. I LOVED my penne pomodoro.

My husband loved the pecan pie. He also loved my chocolate mousse. I know this because he took it away from me.

The worst part about the meal? There definitely WAS NOT enough people in there. It should have been packed!

Dave, any upcoming menu changes for Spring?

My husband and I were there on Friday as well. I got there early, and while I waited for Gary had a really nice Malbec after consulting with the very wonderful waiter who understood right off the bat what I was interested in. A family came in with a young daughter and baby twins, and the waitress was fabulous with them. Dave took a few minutes to chat, and then we enjoyed a really lovely dinner with good wine and good desserts. Good music, wonderful wait staff and a really comfortable, warm atmosphere.

Looking forward to more evenings there with friends this summer.

All right, I will throw down the gauntlet in a big way! I don't know why it hasn't come to me sooner. You have the PERFECT PLACE TO HOST A CHICKEN AND DUMPLINS COOK OFF. Some of us on this site will have to prove themselves with the fine virtues of Bisquick(And I'm not backing down). As the owner of an establishment that is located where most of us(Hoosiers)have had our best chicken and dumplin' experience(AKA Harvest Homecoming) you should open up the courtyard at some point on Some Sunny Sunday Afternoon In The Fall to make this wild little dream come true.

I don't know why this idea hasn't come upon me sooner, A Chicken and Dumplin'Challenge would be great at your place. You should host this event if it ever comes to life. As a Hoosier, most of my best chicken and dumpling memories come from the Harvest Homecoming. You have a large patio that could be a fine place to hold an event like this! Call me or E- mail me if you think this sounds like a good(or BAD) idea. I'm thinking The First Thursday Night of the Booths would be really cool....We could invite everyone....With a panel of estemed judges....Heck. we could bust into Pro or Am divisions(my money is on the VFW)something to think about..I already have an Award Winning Chili Recipe(just looking to deversify)
