HELP NEEDED: Large group Apr 23 near Jeff Mall/South Lou.

by Laura SS » Fri Apr 08, 2016 5:47 pm

A good friend from Tennessee is "looking for a good place to take a group of about 30-40 people to eat" on April 23. This is a group of teens competing in the 2016 VEX Worlds (Robotics Education & Competition Foundation) from April 20-23. They're already going to Buca di Beppo one night and Hard Rock another night. She's looking for something near the Jefferson Mall or anywhere off of I 65 south of Louisville.

That's not my normal stomping grounds and I'm at a loss. Forumites?

If they are going further south on I 65 towards Tennessee there is a Cattleman's Steakhouse in Shepherdsville right at the interstate. They are usually pretty good about handling larger groups like that and have good food at reasonable prices.

Thanks Mark! I think they're staying a little closer to Louisville, though -- just not planning to go down into Thunder, that I know of.

There is another Cattlemen's on Hurstbourne about a mile from Buca di Beppo. Everything I know about in the Jefferson mall area are chains such as Olive Garden etc. and I'm not sure how well they would deal with a large crowd like you are talking about.

I believe the Mark's Feed Store on Dixie and in Fern Creek have private dining rooms. I am not sure how big the rooms are but both locations are relatively close to J-Mall.

The Tumbleweed on the Outer Loop has a closed patio area that might work. Tuscany on the other side of the Outer Loop, near Walmart has a section that is not open most nights that might do the trick, too. Tuscany has better food.

Thank you all so much! I've shared these ideas with my friend and would be more than happy to share anything else anyone would suggest for a group that size on that night.
