Thunder on the River at Flat12 Bierwerks

Flat12 Bierwerks plans its Thunder On The River Beer Extravaganza on Saturday, April 23. Flat12’s parking lot and heated warehouse overlooking the Ohio River will be transformed into an indoor/outdoor beer garden with Flat12 taproom and beer garden featuring 16+ beers.

The Bristol Bar & Grille in Jeffersonville, 700 W. Riverside Drive, will have an all-you-can-eat buffet with unlimited soft drinks (and great views) for Thunder Over Louisville Doors open Saturday, April 23, at 3 p.m., for the start of the air show. The appetizer buffet begins at 4 p.m., followed by dinner stations at 6 p.m. Dessert trays and a coffee station are available from 8:30-11 p.m.

The cost is $180 per seat inside or $115 for limited view bar or patio seats. The price includes all food, iced tea, coffee, soft drinks and sales tax. Alcohol, tip and parking are not included. Guests will receive wristbands so they can come and go as they please.

Hot and cold appetizer station
Variety of options including green chili wontons, artichoke fritters and fruit and cheese crudités

Raw bar
Oysters on the half shell, steamed shrimp, mussels and smoked salmon

Carving station and sides
Carved prime rib with au jus, horseradish, Henry Bain sauce and yeast rolls;
broccoli with hollandaise; mashed potato bar; wedge salad; and button mushrooms

Country station
Fried chicken; baby back ribs; macaroni and cheese; greens; coleslaw; country-style green beans; and corn bread

Dessert
Assortment of cookies, cheesecake, chocolate-covered strawberries and sweet treats

First Thunder at Doc's Cantina

This will be the first Thunder Over Louisville for Doc’s Cantina, 1201 River Road (former riverfront Tumbleweed).

Doors will open on Thunder Saturday, April 23. at 2 p.m. with the air show starting at 3 p.m. A selected menu of favorites including tacos, tortas, appetizers and entrees as well as non-alcoholic beverages will be available all day. The cost is $180 per seat. That price includes all food and tip. Alcoholic beverages and parking are not included.

Parking can be added to any ticket for $50. Guests will receive wristbands so they can come and go as they please from the waterfront restaurant. Tickets and parking can be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets. For more information, visit Doc’s Cantina Facebook page.

Located at the foot of the Big Four Bridge in Waterfront Park, Doc’s Cantina is a fine spot to take in both the air show and fireworks. The two-story building has two patios as well as dozens of window seats on each level. The menu includes traditional Latin street foods like empanadas, sopes and fresh tacos, house-made salsa and hot sauces and brunch dishes like chilaquiles verdes, cinnamon buns and huevos rancheros.
