Late Night Dining

by Gary Z » Sat Mar 19, 2016 1:02 pm

I know I should know this but I'm drawing a blank... what's open past twelve that isn't fast food, a diner, or the Bristol? Basically a place you wouldn't be ashamed to take a date to?

Butchertown Grocery for some charcuterie would be my go-to for a date.

Not a bad suggestion Stephen as I've been wanting to try Butchertown Grocery, but we'll both be getting off work and will want something more substantial than meat and cheeses.

America The Diner? Is Asiatique still serving food late in the downstairs lounge? Of course you've got Spinelli's and La Bamba Burritos Bigger than your Head.

Asiatique! Of course! Perfect. Thanks Robin. I was being brain dead.

Incidentally I'd rather rather inject myself with Ebola than eat at Spinelli's.

Give Asiatique a yell, though, and make sure what they're doing currently. I know they had that late night lounge menu some time ago, but I haven't been over that way in the wee hours for quite a while.

Barcode on Frankfort Avenue is one of my go-to spots after a particularly busy Saturday night at work. They are open and serving food until 2am every night but Sunday, when they close at midnight. I highly recommend it for late night eats.

The Hub also has a decent menu and is open until 2am. Not sure how late the kitchen stays open, but it would be worth a call. Part of the place definitely has more of a restaurant vibe than a bar vibe.

Then, there's always Ramsi's...Open til 1am weeknights, and 2am on weekends.

Check the website. Don't think they are open after midnight on some nights

Yes, Asiatique offers the late night small plate happy hour menu on Fridays and Saturdays from 11.00-1.00 am, and the bar stays open till 2.00am. Please join us for some late night bites.

This is a tad old, but think it's still good (in addition to the above)

till 1am
'Mellow Mushroom on Shelbyville Rd, Patrick O'Shea's (bar till 4, kitchen till 1)

till 2+
Bristol on Bardstown Rd, Ramsi's, Wick's Pizza on Bardstown Rd, Galaxy Bar, The Hub, Monkey Wrench (till 3?), America the Diner

And, depending on what day try River Walk (and it's sister bar with food)

I can't argue with that, but I will say the whole shebang there is sexy after work. 'It'd make an Archbishop kick out a stained-glass window' kind of sexy.

Or you can go for comfort food and shots and go to sleep. Just sayin'
