The historic South Side Inn is back in business at 114 E. Main St., New Albany. The landmark cafeteria had been closed for several months before it reopened Oct. 29 under new ownership.

Three Henryville, Ind., residents now run the place. C.W. Thomas and Brent Bagshaw purchased the property and hired friend Kenny Lynch, a former manager with KingFish and Mark's Feed Store restaurants, to be general manager. The eatery, which has expanded into catering, has 32 full-time employees, Lynch said.

The new owners gutted the building before repainting and reflooring it, installing new kitchen equipment and enlarging restrooms.
