Looks totally destroyed. Not sure if Maria Bells place is next door but that whole section is basically gone.

I'm no expert, but from the looks of the photo on this page, the business between Superchefs and the nail place was hit the worst.

Anybody know what was in that space?

It was Maria Bell's Greek Restaurant. Totally destroyed, she lost every thing. :(

Odd, Darnell Ferguson himself was posting that it was his place, and others nearby said the same. I'm not even going to speculate further, although it's very tempting to do so ...

Reading the GoFundMe page very carefully ...

This morning at 4:15 am, on January 10th 2016, the building where Chef Maria's Greek Deli is located, caught fire, leaving in ashes several businesses along with Chef Maria's new establishment .

That went up mighty fast ... too bad the owners of all the restaurants along there couldn't get together for a joint fun-draiser.

Also, was El Tarasco damaged? Was Silvio's damaged? Was the whole building involved? Suzy B, you got anything on this?

Still trying to find out about Silvio's. I imagine at the very least he has water damage. It looks like the back wall and roof are gone in Maria's. Back wall gone in Super Chefs.

FYI - Joella's is donating a portion of today's sales to APRON for the effected staff.

I am still trying to get info from my FD contacts. From the video and pictures, this was pretty well along before FD got there.

So sad!
Due to the cost, most restaurants aren't going to have business interruption insurance, and of course the staff is out of work. :( :( :(

According to Silvio's Facebook page they only suffered minor smoke damage. They said they would be closed a few days to clean up.

Spent some time on the line with Darnell at Napa River Grill back in the day. Sorry to hear about this. Some light in the darkness though from Dustin Staggers and the folks at Ten Tables (copied from the Ten Tables FB page. Go there to make reservations)

TEN TABLES SPECIAL EDITION- 1/18/16
Event Details-
January 18th, 2016
Venue: America The Diner- 962 Baxter Ave.
Doors open at 5:30pm
Dinner begins at 6:45pm
Ten Tables Chefs- Dustin Staggers, Eric Morris, Ethan Ray, Bobo
Plus Guest Chefs- Darnell Ferguson and Maria Konstandinidou Bell
8 Course Dinner- Amuse, Soup, Salad, 2 Appetizers, 2 Entrees, Dessert.
$125/Person
Email MLau@RouxLouisville for reservations. Limited Availability.

Everyone heard about what happened this morning with Chef Maria Konstandinidou Bell and Superchefs restaurants. We will be throwing a special fundraiser Ten Tables on January 18th to support both of these amazing chefs and their restaurants. Both Darnell and Maria will be joining us in the kitchen because as any chef knows, the easiest way to get your mind off troubles in life is just to sling some food and have some fun. $50 p/person will be donated directly to these friends of ours, and 10% of all drink sales will go to supporting Apron Inc., a cause that is crucial in these times of need for restaurant employees.

We hope everyone will come out and support our amazing culinary community and these two amazing people. Even if you aren't able to attend, sharing this link will still help the cause.
