Southern and Soulful

From their Fb page, "welcome to SOUTHERN AND SOULFUL LOUISVILLE, a weekly supper club whose menu items will be inspired by the Deep South and limited to only 20 guests. This will be a "pay as you want" event. That's right, all we ask is that you be fair and pay what you feel the meal and the experience was worth to you. The first supper club event date is this Saturday, January 9th @ 6:30 pm."

Sign up at their Fb page and the secret location will be texted to you. https://www.facebook.com/Southern-and-S ... nref=story

Interesting concept.

Do you have any idea who's putting this on, Leah? It does sound interesting, but personally, I'd want to know a little more about it before I signed on.

Yes. The owners of Southern and Soulful also also food trucks - Pollo. They've been in the food biz for quite a while. Last year they also conducted what I'll call a food ministry where they parked and gave out dinners to the needy/homeless. They're legit.

So I was picked! Awesome! Now I have NO IDEA what the going rate for a "pay what you want dinner." For a nice dinner out, with booze, we spend about $150. Is that about right? Or is this like 610 Magnolia and like $300?

What's the norm? I don't want to be cheap! Any suggestions?

We weren't picked but I was wondering the same thing. Looking at the menu I'm guessing it's on the lower end of what you mentioned but I think it will have to be something that you decide when you are at the dinner. How the presentation and service are handled will certainly influence the value as will the venue.

Shaved catfish with I hot shit sauce sounds like a google translation error.
