The Hub on Frankfort Ave looking good

by James Natsis » Sun Dec 13, 2015 12:14 pm

I had a chance to peek in and speak with a few people yesterday. The place is pretty big, has a modern, reductionist design, and a sizeable patio out front with a fire pit in the center. There are also several garage doors that will open up the place to the street on warm evenings. It seems to have a classy vibe which should fit the small plates and specialty cocktail offerings. This is the type of place that will likely liven/change the nightlife scene along the avenue.

It looks to be a winner and a breath of fresh air. They are a few weeks from opening.

We were by yesterday and admired it from outside, James. The other end of the building looks like it's going to be a Japanese steakhouse/sushi establishment, possibly occupying the entire east end of the building. They've got a way to go, but a bunch of Asian guys running forklifts were extremely busy getting things done.

I'm impressed with the way they've turned that entire building - particularly the part that was basically a bland warehouse wall on the building front - into something that looks a lot more suited to Frankfort Avenue's streetscape. When it's done, it's going to transform the feel of that block.
