Half Peach Bakery & Cafe (behind the Old Sears Building)

by MarieP » Tue Dec 01, 2015 3:46 pm

The cafe is not yet open, with brown paper still on the doors. But it looks promising...glad to see another local business open up shop! It is next door to Charim in the Oeschli strip of stores behind the Old Sears Building.

So, between Charim and Havana Rumba? I can't remember what was in there before. Anyone?

One was an optical place and maybe one more.

The vacation travel place? No, that's on the opposite side of Charim.

Google Maps to the rescue! It's where the glasses place used to be-- Steve Shade strikes again!

Warm Reflexology is between it and Havana Rumba.

A little more on this place from Business First:

Sue Zhao and her daughter, Tina Gao, have been working to open the restaurant in recent months and expect to have it finished by mid-December.
If you're thinking the Half-Peach Bakery sounds familiar, you'd be right. Half-Peach has been selling baked goods and lunch boxes at farmers markets, Rainbow Blossom natural food stores and at Safai Coffee for years ...
Gao described it as a very casual, deli-style setting without a set menu. Customers can come in and see what's on offer or make requests of their own. Zhao stressed that the two will offer very fresh, 100 percent vegan fare, using as many organic ingredients as possible.
