new Guinness (IPA) @ The Rover tonite

for any of you who, for whatever reasons, have always shied away from Guinness, thinking of it only as a dark, heavy sludge of a beer - somewhat akin to used motor oil (!) - they're offering a new product, an "IPA", that's being locally premiered tonight at The Irish Rover on Frankfort Ave from 6:00p - till.

It, like their famous stout, is "nitrogen" propelled, giving it that creamy head that the stout's famous for. Here's some info on it:

Anyway, there'll be a bunch of Guinness folk there and a bunch of give-aways, etc. and should be some fun! If you're an IPA fan, you might want to drop by?

Blasphemers! Guinness is mither's milk ... drink of the angels, it is! (And actually, not nearly as dark or as heavy as a lot of dark beers from US micros.)

Sure, I'd try the IPA, for curiosity as much as anything else. But not as a replacement for the beautiful iconic original. Cushlamochree!
