Holiday Bird Recommendations

Need your opinions on where to order a great holiday turkey. Could be whole bone in, boneless breast, smoked, deep fried etc. Feeding 15. We've had poor luck picking on our own and, no, we aren't cooking it. Thanks!

Ed,
My first thought is for The Fresh Market. They have FRESH NEVER FROZEN turkeys and you can get medium to extra large. They are probably taking orders now and I know you can do it online now as I got an e-mail on it today.

Fresh market does both precooked and uncooked birds and you can order the precooked ones with or without all the fixings. Marks feed store also sells precooked smoked birds with or without the fixings.

Kroger and Whole Foods sells cooked turkey and sides.

I have never used any of them so I have no recommendations.

Ed, Shack In The Back in Fairdale does both smoked hams and turkeys. We have gotten their hams for the last 4-5 years and they are fabulous! We haven't tried their smoked turkeys but they certainly look & smell wonderful!!! I would definitely get one except we have a turkey roasting ritual here  . Know Fairdale isn't very close to Goshen, but should you want one, my family coming in from Western KY (I-65) does a pick up Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving and would be happy to pick up something for you since we are right down the road!!! C

They have a website and a FB page but you do have to search for pics of the hams and turkeys!

A few years ago we had to be out of town for a family ilness, and for the first time ever I didn't do my own. We ordered the whole shebang from Whole Foods, picked it up as scheduled, did some minor re-heating, and were extremely happy with the results. (not as good as mine, but definitely acceptable!)
