Caribbean food downtown

by James Natsis » Thu Jan 03, 2008 3:26 pm

I stumbled into a place called Vic iVan this afternoon on 120 First St just across from the underconstruction White Castle. The woman is from Ghana and formerly worked at Kilimanjaro. It is a small, lunch diner type of place open until 2:30 M-F and seems to depend more on carryouts. They serve such banalities as fried chicken, burgers, grilled sandwiches and fries. But there are items such as jerk chicken, spinach stew, dorowot, injera, rice, and other such items that were specialites at Kilimanjaro.
