Clifton's Pizza will host Side Door Cinema Club

Side Door Cinema Club brings mix of movies, eating, and dining to Clifton’s Pizza

Fans of independent and classic films were left with a void when Wild ‘N’ Woolly Video announced its closure earlier in the year. A new series of film screenings at a local restaurant will look to fill that niche while providing a unique movie viewing experience.

Beginning in October, Side Door Cinema Club will offer a mix of classic films and newer, independent films that did not screen at local movie houses. The screenings will happen every Monday at Clifton’s Pizza, located at 2230 Frankfort Avenue. For the screenings, Clifton’s Pizza has installed a 12-foot screen, digital projector, and full 7.1 digital surround sound.

Clifton’s Pizza will offer an all-you-can-eat pizza and salad buffet as well as a selection of craft and domestic beers and wines. Side Door Cinema Club will stage special events such as guest speakers and Razz-A-Rama, a unique experience where viewers can text comments about the film and have them appear on screen. This combination of programming and ability to eat a meal and enjoy an adult beverage makes Side Door Cinema Club an exclusive experience for local film lovers.

To see the scheduled list of movies, movie fans are asked to go to the Facebook page - www.facebook.com/SideDoorCinemaClub - to see the Event Listings. Fans that “Like” the page can offer suggestions for future films and events and stay current on the latest news and offers. For most films, admission is $5 and the buffet $8. Prices will vary for special events. For our first movie, The Seven Five, on October 5, all tickets will be free! Advance tickets for other films may be purchased at Movies and More in the Mid City Mall or the Highlands location of Better Days Records.

That sounds really cool, and a good excuse to go get a Clifton's calzone! :)
