CJ: Three stars for Me Gusta

I just noticed the CJ review. Three stars for Me Gusta, a newish Mexican-and-more spot on Whiskey Row.

Did anything substantive change with the Aztecas family of restaurants, other than the name, when they became Ramiro's Cantina, Me Gusta, and Cucina Mama?

Disassembling a small local chain into independents, I think. Still of a generic type, but I'd expect individual variations. (In other words, I haven't actually checked that out. )

I don't think a restaurant deserves three stars, with only one server and no management in sight. One star. I might not go back for that reason - too many choices out there. Service is almost everything. And not blaming the server. I would probably tip extra and not return. Was in that situation (only server) once 35+ years ago. Still have nightmares :(

The CJ's star system is ... inscrutable.

In fairness to the current incumbent, her Gannett-era predecessors, Marty and Susan, also frequently issued a rating that didn't seem to match the words. (Who knows, maybe I do, too! )
