Por comida caliente, try food from Southeast Asia. Simply Thai in St. Matthews and Middletown; NamNam Vietnamese in St. Matthews, Vietnam Kitchen or Annie Cafe (among others) in the South End. Look for dishes that are marked with estrellas rojas o chiles calientes.

Indian food, too, can be muy caliente. Dakshin, Bombay Palace or Taj India in the East End; Kashmir on Bardstown Road. Ask which dishes are hot and tell them if you want it mas caliente.

Some of the dishes at Queen of Sheba Ethiopian on Taylorsville Road are very hot. Again, ask for information and request very hot, si tu quiere.

Go to any American barbecue restaurant and ask for the hottest sauce! Or go to Toast on Market and try the grilled cheese sandwich with spicy tomato soup. The last time I had that soup in the store in New Albany, casi me mató.

I recommend Jasmine out east of town for hot pot and other Szechuan specialties. Not only spicy but numbing from the Szechuan peppercorns. Dan Dan noodles and cumin lamb are both good. Ask for the Chinese menu.

Sidebar: I had a 7th grade Spanish teacher who was severe about punishing those of us who confused caliente with picante. This is the first time I've ever seen caliente used to mean spicy. Is that just Spanglish slang I'm not familiar with? Or was she just being stricter than the common usage?

Creo que es útil recordar que no todos los que usan la gramática incorrectamente es un troll. Hay momentos en que la gente está usando un servicio de traducción electrónica como yo. No todos podemos escribir a la perfección, y la vaca saltó sobre la luna con una cuchara y una morsa comió un plátano con la niña mientras se ve el baloncesto en un domingo en el invierno, y esta traducción es claramente culpa de Google, ¿sabes?
