OK, I have to try this pizza out, and soon. My diet will just have to suffer. :)

I worked in the Binghamton, NY area for about four years, and I got rather addicted to the pizza choices there, including white pizza.

I'll definitely be stopping in next week to try a slice.

I live in NYC but spend some time out here for my job. I gave up on Louisville pizza when I first came here three years ago. People swore up and down that I HAD to try Wick's. Ummm, not quite what I was hoping for.

In all fairness, I did finally find a decent slice at Luigi's while on my original SDF pizza quest...but a bit pricey at $3 a slice. Hell, I live on the UES of Manhattan and never pay more than $2 for a slice or $5 for a lunch special (2 slices and a beverage). Plus, they close way too early.

Yeah well Wick's is pretty subpar. I would not advise anyone to HAVE to try it.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

Out where? Oh, you mean away from the center of the universe that is NYC?

I like Wick's, but most times I am there, the service sure leaves a lot to be desired. It seems that you have to be a regular to get good service. I also like Bearno's a lot and always receive good service from them. Bad service shouldn't be that way anywhere you go, food establishment or not. Isn't a business open to service their customers?
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Oak Street Pizza has been discovered. Last week on a weeknight we ordered a pizza and the estimated (and actual) time before it was ready was 20-25 minutes. Tried to do the same today, and the wait time was 90 minutes. Good for them--bad for me!

I thought "out here" would have a clear connotation when posted on a Louisville specific forum.

But if you need further clarification...yes, I spend some time in LOUISVILLE for my job, which keeps me from my home in the center of the universe.

We got a Mediterranean pizza and an order of garlic knots last night. YUM. I will never forsake Jockamo's (esp. since it's right around the corner from my house), but Oak Street is definitely high on my list now.

I was just joshin' with you, Brad. I also like the term for all of the US between NYC and San Fran as "flyover country".

Welcome to Louisville - we're glad you're here.

We ordered a pizza the other night, and it was actually really good! I was a little disappointed they didn't have the sicilian style though. I live in Old Louisville, and this will be my number one choice when ordering pizza.
