4th of July: Open or Closed?

by alejandro.magallanez » Sun Jun 28, 2015 9:16 pm

Thought I'd put this out here for a public service. Just curious to see what's going on on Independence Day.

For us here at Z's Oyster Bar & Steakhouse, both locations will be OPEN on Saturday the 4th and CLOSED on Sunday the 5th.

A quick check of his website confirms that my friend John Varanese will again be CLOSED for the 4th.

We will be closing the J. Gumbo's on UL campus on July 3 and we will stay closed for remodeling, hoping to reopen Aug 1 in time for school to start back.

Yep, school's out and it's a good time shut it down and make some changes. Major changes...

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

I might be wrong about this, but I don't expect most sit-down eateries to close on a Friday or Saturday night because of Independence Day.

Over the 9 will be open. Our "Grand" Opening. I encourage everybody to barge into the kitchen to touch my butt.

I probably missed it somewhere but what is "Over the 9"? And where is it?
