Greetings Forumites,
I went on the tour this morning. The bourbon industry is the gift that keeps on giving. Peerless has a great story with a long family line that goes back 5 generations to the Peerless Distillery that operated in Henderson, Ky from the late 1800s to prohibition.
The building is at Main and 10th (just a stone throw from Falls City and 501 Winery). They are doing the full operation on site as they began producing Rye and Bourbon in March. They even have a rackhouse that will hold about the first year of produced barrells.
Anyway, it looks great and is local to the bones. Their bourbon production is running fully, but for now you can only taste their flavored moonshine products bottled at 44 proof.
I was impressed and thrilled and look forward to tasting their first rye in about 2 years. To their credit, they refused to buy ready -made bourbon to start their stock. They prefer to start completely from scratch to only sell what comes from their Vendôme state of the art equipment.
