Waitstaff in Los Angeles is already getting the minimum wage, they don't have the reduced minimum wage like they do in most places. Combining minimum wage with tips they have to be making out all right in most cases. It certainly seems like that would be a good place for restaurants to try to eliminate tipping since I already have to pay the staff at elevated salary! I believe there are several other areas around the nation that also require that waitstaff be paid the prevailing minimum wage.

Funny, I was in Los Angeles not long ago and there seemed to be plenty of places to eat. I wasn't aware that servers were paid minimum wage there; maybe paying them more than $2.13 an hour isn't the disaster it's been made out to be.
