Mother's Day. Recommendations?

by David Swanson » Fri May 01, 2015 11:29 pm

I didn't see a topic on this year's Mother's Day yet. My mom comes to visit each May. Last year we headed to Limestone for the Mother's Day buffet and Chef Gerhardt hit a home run. Mom loved the buffet and my 1 year old ate 4 helpings of the succotash (so did I!). I'd like to go back, but... just damn.

Two questions: 1) who else has a great Mother's Day buffet? 2) Chef Gerhardt if you are reading can you puh-leeze get that succotash back to a dining establishment available to the public?

Selena's also does a very nice Mother's Day brunch as does Blu at the downtown Marriott.

They are both buffets! Napa River also does a brunch, it's kind of a unique one because the majority of the items are buffet but eggs are cooked to order.

David, I'll post a Mother's Day "sticky" later today or tomorrow ... I was waiting to get Derby out of the way.

I've got news releases from Brix and from Brasserie Provence about Mother's Day brunches, though. Both should be good. Personally I'd be particularly interested in seeing what the folks at the Brasserie have up their sleeve, and you might want to go ahead and give them a call if that sounds good to you, too.

A good time to mention this. Both my parents are in walkers. Mom is in assisted living, but loves to go out on occasion. We went to Volare last year, I went through the buffet for her, but she loved it. Ditto for the BBC on Easter. Mesh is one of the most handicap friendly. Brasserie Provence as well. Jacks /Equus was great for Mom. I sure have a different perspective now with elderly parents.
