Jeff Ruby's first time in L'ville

I've been to Tropicana twice and Belterra. Thanks, Jeff for the HUGE FONTS on the menu, we can all see, lol! Just want to say that tonight, we brought DHs elderly parents, joined by several family members for a rare and special holiday affair. It was awful to plan. This place bent over backwards for us all tonight. We got a special table in the Chuchill Room. Great atmosphere, lighting and no outside noise. The waiter must have taken 40 pictures from 10 cameras without complaining! This was the best service I've ever seen in a Louisville restaurant. I've not dined here before because I'm a non-carnivore, but shame on me. The salads were very good, as were the sides. I think Z's does a better iceberg/blue cheese wedge, but this was very good. The creamed spinach was okay. However the lobster mashed potatoes were YUMMY as were the French green beans (terrific sauce) and the divine grilled asparagus. I had the lobster tail, which was petite and good. My husband had a great tuna. The hit of the night was the sole which was deboned at the table. Lovely. Several family members had beef, which they loved. Bottom line....we had several OLD folks. Some were allergic or intolerant to shellfish and garlic. The servers stood beside them and helped them order; they realized that many in our party could not hear. Not only did they help everyone with their orders, they actually escorted some people to their exquisite bathrooms. We had a very early reservaion..when we left the place was hopping. We were trying to get everyone in their right spots, but messed up. They gave us the cell phone at no cost to help us.What a great night at Ruby's, evetyone loved it!
