Mulligans Closed?

by Doug Davis » Wed Nov 12, 2014 2:49 pm

2 hours ago (around noon on 11/12 Wednesday) the Mulligan's facebook page announced they were closing their doors effectively immediately.

No reason given or supposedly known according to whomever runs the Facebook page for them.

The food and service was always spotty at best. Lived one street over and tried to support them but hard to when those two things are always a crap shoot. SOmebody will snap that spot up soon.

I always enjoyed it for what it was. A decent neighborhood bar with a pretty good bison burger.
Someone let me know if they see it on the auction block. Ive got ideas!

going at auction on the 14th

lt's the end of an era — again — for the historic Mulligan's Pub & Grille property, the old Kaelin's restaurant site on Newburg Road, which is set to be auctioned May 14 in connection with a foreclosure notice.

Well that was interesting. The absolute auction ended with both properties, the restaurant and the house next door, going back to the bank. No one bid over the $550,000 for the restaurant or $110,000 for the house. The auctioneer keep pointing out that the property was appraised at over a million...but no one was bidding. Lots of people watching though, including Irma Kaelin. WAVE 3 was there filming it.

Because they are smarter than the auctioneer obviously. There are properties on Market Street and downtown that wouldnt bring that much. It was fairly obvious the bank must have been paying the appraiser.
