Need your advice again....

by Steve Kluesner » Tue Oct 28, 2014 11:31 am

We are coming back to Louisville next weekend for the weekend and, as always, I ask for your opinions. What is new in the 'Ville that we need to try? We try to hit new places but sometimes we go back to our old favorites. We want to hit at least 3 or 4 new places this trip.

I have a few listed that I am planning on trying....let me know what you think?

Asiatique

Silver Dollar

Grind Burger Kitchen

Mojito

Bistro 1860 has killed it on my last couple trips.

Never had a bad meal at Guaca Mole.

I really need to go back. In the early going, it made me sad.

I was super impressed with their seafood offerings.

KAJIKI TORO SASHIMI

SEARED KING SALMON

LOBSTER HUSH PUPPY

and a couple of specials, another Kajiki dish and mussels.

We have been to Bistro 1860 many, many times and never have been disappointed. You mentioned Grind Burgers. I've never been, but Bluegrass Burgers on Frankfort Avenue is fantastic. Can I get an amen from LHB?

Amen to both Grind and Bluegrass, where they're attentive to quality and use Kentucky Proud meat!

We have hit Bluegrass Burgers on numerous occasions (maybe our #1 on places visited the most).

What is the atmosphere at Bistro 1860?

Pretty much the same as it was as L&N Wine Bar, unless there have been major changes. Upscale casual? Help me out here, folks ...

You know me, I didnt like the place.

I would recommend:

#1. Craft House on Frankfort Ave. Best new beer and restaurant in Louisville.
#2. Brasserie Provence or La Coop or both if you really like French cuisine.
#3 Mussell and Burger Bar if you left town before they opened and havent been yet.
#4. Louvino on Bardstown Rd.
#5. You mentioned Silver Dollar and they are definitely a go to favorite of the wife and I.
#6. Manny & Merles on Main Street for tacos and music one evening...... or tacos from either Ville Taqueria in St Matthews or Taco Luchador on Bardstown Rd for lunch one day.
I eat, therefore I am.
