Mama Grisanti's veal carciofini
Mama Grisanti's fettuccine carbonara
Por Que No's cheese flour crisp
Lamb's sole meuniere
Adam Coury's salmon croquettes
Chico's cheese enchiladas
Tex's BBQ rib chunks
The Old House - beef tenderloin on french bread sandwich
Mario's anchovy pizza and pizza from the Prospector (both for the nostalgia)
Casa Grisanti anything
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

I'm with Gary- the first thing I thought of was the Italian Cream cake from Mellilo's. I'd been known to drive downtown to get it takeout. :!:

The boudin sandwich, the cassoulet, and just about anything else from Blind Pig.

There was a great sandwich, pasta (and dessert) place on Goosecreek, small space- mostly takeout. They did fantastic, then expanded into the former Seviche East space ( now Taj Palace), and abruptly closed. Anybody remember the name? I craved their desserts when I was pregnant.

Was it the Cutting Board, Deb? I sort of remember a two-jump story for them, from a small takeout spot (maybe where Spinelli's went?) to a larger, sit-down place in the current Taj Palace that was very good but apparently just didn't scale up.

Yep- that's it! I'd love to taste their desserts to see if they were really that awesome. ( I know the food was good). Many a night Brian was there at close getting a take-out dessert for me. We joked that we needed to give them a baby picture to post on their wall. ;-)
