Last day for Olive's

by Ashley Dunn » Tue Dec 18, 2007 5:28 pm

Sad news - I stopped in Olive's Deli on 4th Street today for lunch and the staff had just learned that today would be the last day of operation.

Not many deli's (within walking distance of work) use Boar's Head meats and cheeses, so I'll miss being able to go there for a real sandwich.

I hate to see anyone fail but I often wondered how long they would hang on.

Oh no, that is really to bad. I work across the street and grabbed lunch often at Olive's. They always seemed busy too.

sorry to hear sbout the loss. With all the great restaurants L'ville has; the one thing it's missing is a great Jewish deli IMO.

hate to see it go as well...but I tried to give the place a chance a few times and never really cared for it. The pizza was downright terrible actually. The crust and cheese were woefully undercooked. I had been wanting to give it another chance though, but guess I won't get to now.
