Food truck calendar?

by Mark R. » Tue Sep 09, 2014 11:42 pm

There used to be a page in blogspot where there was a calendar showing where quite a few of the food trucks were on a regular basis. I went to check it tonight and it's gone! Does anybody know where there is a calendar or other method to see where the food trucks are going to be? Trying to figure out where they are going to be by relying on twitter is really a pain and not very user-friendly.

We try to assemble the various trucks' Twitter feeds in one place on the HotBytes Food Truck Twitter list, Mark. Isn't it working for you?

(PS: I rely on consumer input to keep the list tuned up and complete, so please let me know if you notice any omissions!)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't those sort of "competitive" organizations that list their own members but ignore the ones that aren't in the club? If I'm mistaken and one of them is fully comprehensive, let me know, and I'll give them more props. :)

Given that Twitter seems to be the standard medium of communication for food trucks, it still seems to me that keeping a list of ALL food truck Twitter feeds (and trying to keep it current) is the simplest and most obvious way to accomplish "one-stop shopping."

You are correct, there are two groups. I use the website calendar and the Twitter to find folks. The app that was supposed to do that was too cumbersome for most of the trucks and it is weak.

Instead of competing they ought to work together to make things better. When I did a Google search last night I found this website http://www.louisvillefoodtruckassociation.com/ which tells about the trucks but doesn't have a calendar. I didn't find the other one which has a calendar. The old blogspot site seem to work better than either one of these does and had more trucks listed. They all really need to figure out a much better way for people to figure out where they are going to be, it would certainly help their business.
