Any suggestions for downtown dining in Nashville? Something upscale and innovative as it is for a weekend trip and want to have first class experience.

thanks in advance

Union Common is now open. The Ton's and Bobby Benjamin opened this past week. But I guess it is Midtown. Not sure how far that is.

I've also sent a email to a friend that has been living in downtown Nashville for the last 10 years.

It's hard to describe this place, the website has the blueprint and yes, it does include a bowling alley, but the restaurant itself is wonderful if not truly upscale. It's in an old converted bldg by the river. Very industrial looking.

I'm sure others will mention Merchant's- casual downstairs and upscale upstairs. Had a lovely seafood risotto with squid ink a couple weeks ago. And they polish your shoes while you eat!!!

Good choices. I've had several meals at Etch, and all were top notch. I've been to Husk twice, and the first visit was very meh, but the second was much better.
