BD's Mongolian Grill

by Andrew Mellman » Tue Aug 19, 2014 12:30 pm

I may be the only one here shedding tears, but BD's has closed.

We enjoyed the buffet choices (larger selection than Ghengis Grill or others) and number of different sauce options, plus a relative with significant health restrictions could always come up with a good meal there. Also, they regularly hosted fund raising dinners for local organizations!

Yes, it got messy right after the dinner rush (and before they could buss the areas), but it was a good value meal.

I wonder if the chain is having problems . . . they recently closed several Chicago area locations also, tho the Lexington KY location is still going strong.

Which resolves the question that arose when BoomBozz announced plans for another Taphouse at that location: "Is BD's leaving?"

Sorry for your loss, Andrew. :( Is the locally owned Mongolian Grill that was originally 2 Hahns still open?

Thanks, Trisha! Shah's is the name I was groping for ... 2 Hahns on Taylorsville Road became Shah's, and then they opened another branch out near U of L. It's still a local owner, too!
