What's Expresso? (Not the drink)

by Leah S » Thu Mar 22, 2007 1:54 pm

I've been noticing a retail storefront, on Market east of Primo that has big orange letters, Expresso. I'd assume a coffee house maybe?

And it the best Louisville tradition, I think it's where Gallerie Hertz used to be.

If it's what I am thinking of, it will be Derby City Espresso, hopefully open by April 1st. They have been opening for gallery hop nights with live music.....

Oh, exciting! That area can always use more and better reasons to visit -- witness the downtown life discussion going on in another thread. Do keep us posted, anyone who knows more details!

If it's 331 East Market Street, which is near the new Residence Inn and not too far from the lovely Lion's Den - It's Derby City Espresso, which is definitely an Espresso bar. And I believe the plan is to offer art as well as live music. I have NOT been there personally, but I know many of my friends that have - on trolley hop nights - to see music.

EXpresso?

by Jeremy J » Sun Mar 25, 2007 10:14 pm

I don't mean to be snooty but does it annoy anyone as much as me that a store (even a non food store) would perpetuate the rampant mispronunciation of espresso? I'm sorry...it's just a pet peeve...

oh- and I'm back btw

Derby City Espresso - 331 East Market Street - OPEN NOW

by Matthew Landan » Mon Apr 02, 2007 6:47 pm

It's true Derby City Espresso celebrated it's grand opening on April 1.
The sign reads Espresso not Expresso.
Come on by and say you saw this post for a $1 espresso shot.

... a clothing store operating under the name Expresso?

Are they LOOKING for a law suit?!?

edit: Or wait... have we established that the sign was misread and that the palce in question is indeed Derby City Espresso?

Thanks!
