The article is certainly interesting reading but I really wonder if it truly reflects the national trends or just those in New York City in some cases. Kale and Brussels sprouts are 2 of the items that make me wonder that. They have but I menus for a long time in many parts of the country, mostly southeastern parts of the country, and are now finally getting into the Northeast US. There are some of that list that I wish to never become popular such as Quinoa as well as a few others.

I think it's fascinating, and if it reflects NYC trends, so what? Most of those eventually find their way here.
