Mazzoni's

I saw Mazzoni's new sigh at the old Furrows site last night in Middletown. I don't know if they are open yet. Just an FYI.

They are moving out to Middletown...a completely different clientele....I do think they have some work to do, to get where they used to be.

You are correct that they're moving ... See this Nov. 9 discussion

I'm not absolutely sure I buy the "completely different clientele," though. Remember that Mazzoni's started out downtown back in the 1800s. It's really more of a Louisville tradition than just a neighborhood joint, and I'm would guess that they're already drawing from all over at their Bowman Field location.

Agreed Robin. I bet the bulk of Mazonni's clientele is already closer to Middletown than they are to that Taylorsville Rd area since a bunch of them were fans of the original location DT. (Well, at least the ones that are still alive.) I think most of their customers would be more than willing to travel for a Mazonni's oyster. I love them and wish them well.

It is a shame that they are moving. I am sure they will do fine.

I wonder if other "institutions" would succeed if they moved from their long time, well established locale?? Flabby's, Check's and Mike Linnig's just to name a few.

Any thoughts??

Mazzonis still at Bowman Field. New location still needs interior work. Don't know when moving.

The restaurant will close its Taylorsville Road location for good this Saturday and plans to reopen between Jan. 2 and Jan. 7 in the old Furrows Home Center building in Middletown.

And for those of us who haven't lived here for 112 years, that would be what address?
