Dinner at the Shady Lane Cafe

by Susanne Smith » Thu Jul 31, 2014 9:22 pm

So we are back doing dinner on Thursday and Friday nights from 5 to 8pm. All the usual favorites and two specials every night. Tonight was a Brie and Pesto Burger, and a delicious homemade Chicken Fried steak with a glorious milk gravy, mashed potatoes, and braised baby kale, spinach and tomatoes. Chicken fried steak is one of those dishes I long for and can never find a really good version. I pigged out on my own cooking, which is unusual, as all those chefs out there can testify. All of our old night customers are starting to come by again, and we are excited about any of you new folks who might find us. We also just got named the #1 restaurant in St. Mathews by the web site, Trip Adviser. We are stoked about that, and people traveling through have been most receptive about our rating. Life is good. See you soon. Bill and Susi.

Wish we could have come tonight--that is Bob's very favorite meal and I'm not too far behind!!! We had another commitment this evening but certainly look forward to trying it the future. Know your dinner will be very successful just as your lunch is!

Given your menu, great cooking and reasonable price point I bet you rock out every night! Lucky Holiday Manor area. :D
