FYI, they announced that July 16:

They "re-announced" it today to drum up a crowd for the presentations.

Really? Yeah, I like The Village Anchor . A bunch in fact, but I would not call that Fine Dining. Maybe it's just me.

I certainly agree with that comment and also really question the voting for it having the Best Restaurant Atmosphere! The only atmosphere it has is sitting outdoors under a tent! Unless you are somebody or know somebody you're never going to get to sit inside and see what the atmosphere really is. Of course they seem to be able to stuff the ballot box very well in any poll done in Louisville, there have been rumors in the past of them manipulating the voting to accomplish this!

How is Terry Meiners so popular? He's about as funny as Tony Malito is enchanting.

Ruby's is on that list as well. As loud as that place is I don't understand how it made the list.

Certainly can't argue with that! Again, many restaurants stuff the ballot box how they rank doesn't mean much nor do other people's opinions to most of us when we make dining choices!

Might be interesting to see what advertisers Louisville.com has. 8)

To be fair, Carla, LouMag's publisher, Dan Crutcher, is an old buddy from back in the days of the Louisville Times, and that's not his style. They do aggressively go after ads from the finalists, but that's a reasonable business model.

Where they come in for criticism is not a commercial tie-in but a ballot box that's relatively easy to stuff. (Although to be completely honest, they do control that a bit - and enhance single-issue sales  - by requiring that print ballots be from the mag, not copies.)

And to be further honest, the LEO Weekly annual Reader's Choice contest is even easier to stuff.

Now, taking a deep breath and relaxin' ... ... I think most everybody recognizes these "ballots" for what they are: Popularity contests. It's still fun to see who wins.
