I don't get it. Given how popular M&BB has been, in light of their 45+ min waits, why didn't they simply expand M&BB seating into the space?

You'd have to ask Fernando, but if I had to guess, I might guess a couple of things:

* TPD is significantly separated from the rest. Running food, orders and servers up and down stairs (or sharing the classy elevator with guests) would be a mess.

* Fernando LIKES to spin off and create new restaurant ideas, and every new one so far has hit a home run.

There's a preview of the entire menu on Eater. Disappointed that the Iberico ham appetizer didn't survive the changeover. :(

Nobody will question you in that call! Dumber may even be an understatement.

Hello, it's been a while since I post here. I want to let everybody know what we are doing, we are changing the concept at TPD, like everybody knows it's going to be a casual Italian place that we are calling "CENA" Trattoria, must of the dishes can be share and that's what we are trying to do, people can pick things from the different parts of the menu and share, like the Porchetta can be share for 2 or 4 people, same with the Bisteca and the whole Branzino, the primi(our pastas), contorni(our sides), etc. We are not going to be a spaghetti and meat ball place, must of our pastas are home made like our Oxtail angelotti with truffle cream, cappellacci alla trasteverina.
The reason why we are doing this is because must people were not getting what we are doing, it was a big stretch going from burgers to Foie gras torchon and Spanish Octopus terrine, that's is the reason why we are doing the change, not because Ethan and I decided that it was not working , the menu and concept for at TPD was created by my partner Yaniel Martinez and me and Ethan later brought some good ideas, there is enough talent in TPD's kitchen to keep the concept going, but the truth is we want to do something that more people can relate to. We thought of turning TPD in to a tapas lounge, but we want to save that concept for another location.
So I want to thank everybody that came to TPD, we still have two more weeks, so please come and say hello. "CENA" should be up and running the first week of August. Check the menu on this link is not final yet but gives an idea of what the food will be http://louisville.eater.com/archives/20 ... t.php#more. Also check some photos of the food on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 426&type=1.

Aaron, the Iberico ham will make it in CENA's menu I promised you. Robin you hit the nail on the head, if you want I can send you the menu to be post it ones is finalized. Hope this clear things and hopefully we'll see everybody at CENA.

Please do, Fernando! You giving that stuff to Wanker.com is kind of like us going to eat at Mickey D's in favor of Mussel & Burger Bar.

I am sure that the new menu will be tasty but this makes me want to shed a sad tear. TPD has become my favorite place in town. Glad I was able to dine there last week. The food and cocktails were amazing.
