Pappy's Smokehouse-St Louis?

We are heading to St Louis this weekend for a baseball tournament and several folks have said that Pappy's has some killer bbq...any thoughts?

Best BBQ I've ever had, period. The ribs are particularly standout.

Yeah, Pappy's is pretty darn good. Was in St. Louis once for three days and two of those I ate at Pappy's.

I was in St. Louis a year ago over Memorial Day weekend. I didn't get a chance to eat at Pappy's, but did visit Bogart's (the new kid on the block). BBQ was very good. While I was there I saw a sign that said they were the "Best BBQ in the US" according to Zagat. I'm not sure if that was just a reader survey, or an editorial pick, but it was tasty nonetheless.

As former STL residents, my husband mourns Pappy's. Bogart' is Pappy's affiliated, as is Adam's Smokehouse. All have different menus, but all with the low and slow smoke philosophy. My personal favorite is Bogart's.

A little off topic.....i'm headed to Kansas City next week for ACF National and we have team competing in a KCBS Cookoff while we're there. Besides Arthur Bryant's; what are a couple of not to miss Q' joints? Might have to stop in St Louis for Bogart's or Pappy's on the way through

Well, we did stop and have an early dinner at Pappy's last Thursday before the Cardinals/Pirates game. I think we lucked out because it was between lunch and dinner and there was no wait when we got there. I must say that the meats we had were pretty funky good! The burnt ends were already gone for the day so I decided on 1/2 rack and the wife got the pulled pork sandwich. The rack was fall off the bone tender and the pulled pork had a moist, flavorful taste.

The sides were very good as well, but in high dollar poker it's all about the meat! Two Thumbs Up and definitely worthy of a visit!
