Is it going into the former City Cafe space next to the Baxter Ave Cinemas? The street address is for Mid City Mall.

I saw the article and wondered where they were going, I really hadn't thought about that location but I bet it's a good guess. Seems like all the low capital to open a new business unless they are putting in some of their own money besides the money they got for Metro government.

those Metco loans are not meant to finance the whole business. You have to show you have the means to set up or continue the business. They are usually for a specific purpose like facade and HVAC upgrades.

Apparently they're going to be at 619 Baxter Ave., near Payne Street, and hope to open in the next few weeks.

(Insider Louisville) What they have in mind is a fast-casual style concept that will work similarly to a Qdoba, with a combination of specialty crepes (which are basically French-style pancakes) and you-build-it options. One of the keys is proprietary sauces they’ve created that will be highlights of offerings like a Buffalo Chicken Crepe, a Delicious Cheeseburger version, Asian Ginger and Dill Ranch. There will be a variety of meats and other ingredients.

“That’s the thing about a crepe, is you can put anything on it and it will taste good,” Peak said. “We’re also going to try to be innovative and come up with different ideas, and we’re going to serve them a little differently. We’re not going to serve them on a plate, they’re going to be in a cone.” ...

They estimate 15 or so specialty crepes plus maybe 10 dessert crepes will grace the menu for starters. On weekends, For Goodness Crepes will also be open for breakfast with breakfast/brunch-style options.

Finally tried it out today. I'd been a bit hesitant due to the report of disorganization so I waited a while. If today's experience was representative, the shakedown phase has been worked through. This afternoon I went in and it was pretty packed with happy customers enjoying crepes. I got the bean crepes and it was quite good; I'll have it again. I gamely tried the recommended ingestion method that's not unlike eating a Nutty Buddy ice cream cone, peeling paper away as I went. I won't do that in the future but will take advantage of plates & silverware available if you want them near the soft drink dispenser. My wait was short, the staff were friendly and enthusiastic and the decor is colorful and festive. It's worth a visit.
