Lynn still thinks the vacant Paradise Cafe can sell

by Robin Garr » Mon Jun 30, 2014 9:05 am

Looks like the CJ is still trying to wring a little life out of this old story.

So, what do you all think? What will it take to turn this vacant landmark into something good for its neighborhood?

Like any malingering real estate situation, it will probably take a (fairly significant) drop in the asking price.

Instead of putting a purported $400,000 in to renovation after the closing, I'm surprised they don't pull the Vogue and Whiskey Row trick and let it deteriorate until the city steps in with help. :P

We could always let Cordish step in and put something there with city help.

I seem to recall the people talking about the asking price being some crazy high amount, more than anyone could reasonably put together for the property and business.

This old horse again?

Lynn has to be 100%, leave-the-city, out. The site has enough historical momentum to get back on its feet, but the crazy must be cleansed. I don't think the general public are as privy to the crazy as we are and I think you can usher a lot of good will with "Under New Ownership."

What I was told was a multi-million dollar asking price AND the requirement it stay the same with Lynn as a "consultant". There was a report earlier this year that there was interest from a mother and son to reopen, but dealing with Ms. Quirky became an obstacle. Shame that building sits empty, we see people still trying to turn in there when we go by it.
