Suggestions For Anniversary Dinner

by Mike D » Sun Jun 15, 2014 12:12 pm

OK fellow forumites -- today is our wedding anniversary and we're open to suggestions. We had our hearts set on St. Charles Exchange (we haven't made it there yet) only to discover this morning that they are closed on Sunday.

So...watcha got? We don't eat meat but do eat fish and shrimp.

Majid's. Not open on Sunday's though. If you want something today, then I'd say Varanese

Seviche, Rye, Wiltshire on Market and Proof are all open today, I'm pretty sure, and any of the four would make a great anniversary dinner venue. As, of course, would Varanese. (Obviously, call any of these places to confirm.)

We chose Seviche and had an absolutely perfect dinner. Great food, great presentation and excellent service.

Great! I'm glad you found a place that made you happy, Mike. And by the way, a very happy anniversary! Care to spill how many years it's been? :D

Robin, it's been 19 wonderful years. Second marriages for both of us.

Hi! Our 10th is this weekend, and we were hoping for updated suggestions for a dinner? Most likely Friday night, as Sat is filled with great football!

Thinking Bistro 1860, partly because of my small appetite. Thoughts?

Bistro 1860 is a good choice. I would also suggest Decca. Portions are normal and the food is delicious.

If you really loved your spouse you would have dinner at 610.

Don't bother with 610 or 211 either for that matter. Food is better at several other places. The atmosphere is better than the first almost anyplace. I'd sugget La Chasse.

I would have said 610 or Corbett's. Service and food are perfection @ Corbett's, and if you tell them it's your anniversary it'll be a dinner to remember.

The hotels also are fun (English Grill / Oakroom) for a splurge, and if you want to go all-out you can get a dinner & room package (so you can drink your fill and just worry about navigating an elevator!)

You have already picked the winner. Great option for small portions and some of the finest cocktails in Louisville.

Corbett's is definitely on my radar. Guess we need to make up our minds quickly. Another idea I had, but would love input. Thoughts on Volare?
